Redwood City Cañada 4-H Club

There are many different types of projects in 4-H. Some involve various types of livestock. Some involve topics usually associated with Home Economics or crafting. Others focus on everything else such as technology, art, gardening, geo cashing, hiking, shooting sports and so forth.

If a member has an interest in a specific area then a project can be created for it. The purpose of projects is to expose members to a variety of experiences they might not otherwise encounter. Projects also help develop public speaking skills as members are encouraged to research topics and present them to other project members or at a club meeting. Older members are encouraged to become Junior leaders and then Teen leaders who actually lead the project while being guided by adults. Projects introduce members to new ideas. Most importantly, projects are developed to develop passion in its members.
