Given its roots in farming culture, 4-H
provides many methods for youth to become educated about livestock.
Ranging from pets such as rabbits and dogs, up through large market
animals such as hogs or cows, the 4-H program allows members the unique
chance to raise their own livestock animals. Livestock projects aim to
teach youth the great amount of responsibility that is needed when
caring for the well being of an animal. All members can have the
opportunity to not only learn about, but to raise their own livestock
that can then be shown at the county fair.
